Love is often described as a journey… you do not just fall in love once but keep going head over heels every day, for the same person until death do you part! So, why not take a “magical journey” for your wedding on wheels?!
Whether you have always wanted a homely gathering with minimalistic charm or an extravagant “go all in or go all out” sort of plan for your special day, a journey across incredible India on a luxurious joyride of a palace on wheels filled with servers waiting to cater your every need on their toes may just seem a page out of a fantasy novel!
Many may argue that with INR 5.5 crore to spare for a wedding, a destination wedding could be just as great, but as young lovers suggest that is just too passé. While on the other hand, luxurious train ride across the most beautiful parts of the country combined with happy wedding festivities is more millennial and definitely food for thought.
Do you have an eclectic mix of friends and family with desis and NRIs or just foreigners and would love to give them a complete taste of Indian culture and beauty at the occasion of your wedding? Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation has thought of a situation just like that and prepared a package for the ultra rich Indian wedding. Spoil your guests with a taste of ultimate royalty by having a wedding aboard the Maharajas Express Train.
An official from IRCTC revealed that “We are preparing to offer the best of everything and will manage the event by absolute experts so, that the journey of Maharajas Express train is the most memorable one for the bride, groom and their family and friends. We are still working on the finer details and will launch the packages on demand. We are trying to make sure this plan becomes a huge success as it is a unique idea”.
However, this special idea does come with a price well above the comfort zone for many, but a wedding is supposed to be a celebration of love and hence, comes with a slight pocket-pinch! Booking the whole train for a wedding-cum-travel package will cost INR 5.5 crore for 88 passengers. The tour package will have the destinations as the Heritage of India tour with places like Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Ajanta and Agra on the itinerary while travelling from Mumbai to Delhi. Other locations can also be taken like as in the Indian Panorama Tour that begins and ends in Delhi only while covering Jaipur, Gwalior, Agra, Khajuraho, Varanasi and Lucknow.
